I am the in-house mastering engineer at Chamber Studio in Edinburgh, Scotland. It is a fantastic recording facility, located in a great city and it is establishing itself as one of the finest recording studios in Scotland.
The studio itself centres around it's 36 Channel Neve VR Legend console fed into either an Otari 2" 24 track Tape Machine or a Pro Tools HD rig. Both the outboard and the mic cupboard are stocked to the same high standard matching perfectly with the live room, which has great character and natural ambiance for recording.
For mastering; the real benefits come in the form of the acoustically treated control room and the Barefoot monitors. This allows for a detailed and accurate listening experience, crucial factors in creating great masters.
I use a combination of analogue outboard gear with a choice selection of software plugins to give me a broad palette of tools to do my work. Monitoring done through a pair of Barefoot MM-27 monitors.
